US District Attorney Husband Charged
David Lacey.

David Lacey, who was seen wielding a gun when community activists approached his property to speak about conditions in the city, is facing three counts of assault with a firearm, according to documents obtained by Politico.

Prosecutors with the state attorney general’s office leveled the charges on Monday, accusing Lacey of pointing a gun at Black Lives Matter activists outside his home on March 2.

In a video of the confrontation, Lacey can be seen wielding a pistol and instructing the people outside his door to leave his porch or else he would shoot them.

Activist Jasmyne Cannick, a Democratic candidate for the County-City Committee of Los Angeles, said community members were inspired to protest following Jackie Lacey’s decision not to prosecute Democratic super donor Ed Buck concerning the deaths of Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean.
