Trump Ally Roger Stone Hit With $5M Defamation Suit From Judicial Watch Founder

Donald Trump ally Roger Stone, a political consultant and lobbyist, has been hit with a $5 million defamation lawsuit from Judicial Watch founder and conservative lawyer Larry Klayman, the Associated Press reported.

Klayman is seeking compensation in the lawsuit filed Monday in Palm Beach County, Florida over comments Stone made about him on the social media platform Gab, claiming they were false.

The suit alleged Stone called Klayman a "warped former lawyer that the 11th circuit found guilty of molesting his own children," on Gab. Then, after Klayman demanded the comment be removed, Stone proceeded to post a "clarification" insulting Klayman more.

The lawsuit said Stone made additional false statements and said Klayman's ex-wife had previously falsely alleged he had inappropriate sexual contact with their children amid a divorce and custody battle.

Klayman is licensed to practice law in Florida but was suspended from doing so in Washington, D.C.

Klayman is known for his numerous lawsuits, often targeting Democratic politicians. He's also sued his own mother, as well as China, accusing the country of unleashing COVID-19 as a "biological weapon."

Klayman has sued China for $20 trillion over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Klayman said the claim from his ex-wife was investigated and he was never charged with a crime.

A call to Stone's cellphone was unanswered and his voicemail was full.

Stone was charged by the Justice Department in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation and convicted at trial of lying to Congress, tampering with a witness and obstructing the House investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to tip the 2016 election. Trump later commuted Stone's sentence and pardoned him.

Klayman's clients have included George Zimmerman in a lawsuit against the family of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Black teenager Zimmerman killed while volunteering on a neighborhood watch.
