DAYTON, Ohio — A former Dayton Children's Hospital doctor has been indicted on 145 felony charges for possession of child pornography.

According to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, 70-year-old Dr. Gregory Ramey was identified as the source of downloads of child pornography.

His activity was reported to the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which notified local authorities.

Dayton Children's Hospital was made aware of the investigation and immediately placed Dr. Ramey on administrative leave before terminating him.

Ramey served as executive director for pediatric mental health resources at the hospital.

The attorney general's office said the hospital has fully cooperated with the investigation.

“This egregious abuse of the patients’ trust, not to mention the publics’ trust, from a doctor is gut-wrenchingly horrible,” Attorney General Dave Yost said in a statement announcing the indictment. “Young children are innocent, sweet and trusting – vulnerably fragile and in need of special protection.”

The charges against Dr. Ramey include 90 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, 27 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, 25 counts of attempted pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor and three counts of tampering with evidence.
