Heavy police presence spotted outside Trump Tower ahead of election results

The NYPD set up a heavy police presence outside Trump Tower in Midtown as cops prepare for potential unrest ahead of presidential election results.

The barricade of at least five dump trucks and an NYPD bus was spotted across the street from President Trump’s New York residence on Fifth Avenue, videos show.

Back in 2016, NYC sanitation trucks filled with sand created a barricade in front of Trump Tower on Election Day, according to the Washington Post.

Chief of Department Terence Monahan said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon that police were on alert, but there were no credible threats.

“Listen, we all know there’s an election today, who knows who’s gonna win, who’s not gonna win, what the results are,” Monahan said outside 1 Police Plaza. “We have no intel of any problems right now, but that’s why we’re all working.

“We’re gonna have thousands of cops working tomorrow specifically for whatever may occur. So we’ll be ready.”

The heavy police presence comes as businesses in Midtown have spent the last week preparing for unrest by boarding up windows.

The NYPD warned the business community in Manhattan last month to take precautions.
