Imagine the indoctrination taking place inside Kingsland Junior/Senior High School in Spring Valley, Minnesota, when they have to ask the neighborhood residents to remove their Trump flags in order to create “peace in the neighborhood.”
Quite remarkable.
UPDATE: School Superintendent responds via Facebook:
Undoubtedly there are fingerprints and DNA on the letter. Also, laser printers print encoded manufacturer/model/serial# information undetectable to the naked eye.
Sounds even more like a hoax to me now. The resident changed their mind because they knew they were in big doo doo. No way would this guy want to protect the perps identity if the letter was real. He made it up IMHO.
That is certainly a possibility.
But then one has to ask: How did the resident get their hands on official school letterhead? I suppose it could be a very elaborate prank using scanned logos and photoshop, etc. That kind of thing certainly isn’t beyond possibility. But to what end? What would the person GAIN from faking this kind of thing, especially if they then turn around and make like an apology was made?
I think more likely is that the letter was legit, and the sender realized they were about to lose their job, and made a sincere apology and emotional appeal to the resident to not expose them. Possibly the letter was sent in a fit of pique that was later regretted. Goodness knows we all do that sometimes.
I think the important thing is that it was resolved to the satisfaction of everyone involved. And that’s good enough for me.
Agree the letter was probably sent from someone at the school.
Best guess, one of the pink hat snoflakes that love to virtue shame others.
Probably wears a mask while driving, also.
…while driving solo,…
“Possibly the letter was sent in a fit of pique that was later regretted. Goodness knows we all do that sometimes.”
What? No we don’t. Saying something you later regret is one thing – but stealing someone else’s letterhead, faking an outrageous complaint, and going to the trouble of putting a stamp on it and sending it through the US mail, is BAT GUANO CRAZY.
Error: I meant stealing “identity” – not letterhead.
Both are correct in this case.
Yes, but if that had been a letter requesting the same about an Obama, or Biden/ Harris flag, the FBI would’ve been called in to investigate. I’d like reasonable behavior on both sides, instead of us forgiving and forgetting, and them instigating hysterical inquisitions.
That the letter was signed Kingsland high School / Elementary School Office, was the dead giveaway.
C’mon man, even slo joe woulda seen that from a mile away.
These days, you could not be sure.
Hard for Leftists to believe that Conservatives don’t desire to deprive their opponents of their livelihoods, especially if a sincere apology is given.
Maybe it would be wise to take this as a lesson in grace.
This is a great example of the usps at work.
Letter was mailed from spring valley going to Spring Valley, but not without a round-trip to St. Paul.
Where have all the ballots gone?
(you know the song)
The machines that sort you mail into your carriers route aren’t in you local post office. Shipping the mail to the sorting facility is more efficient than having a human sort it locally.
They used to have two mail slots at the post office; one being for local. That local mail would be hand stamped and sorted into your local route. There just isn’t much non mass mailing local mail anymore and they probably had too much incorrect mail going into the local slot meaning that the person sorting through more pieces so that service is t offered anymore.
You are correct Cultural Imperialist.
Your description of “Local” is almost perfect.
That is, the local slot was for mail to receive the local postmark! An action important to collectors and to people who establish a business based upon location or just to people proud of their Post Office.
e.g.; The Valley Forge Post Office is a prime example.
Businesses, (think insurance and fiduciary), really really wanted that “Valley Forge” postmark. Their “Local” mail slot and mail box were filled multiple times per day.
Nowadays, those businesses have to be satisfied with their postage meter mark or specially printed envelopes as the “Local Postmark” is not guaranteed.
If, and that was a big “If”, the clerk postmarking that mail saw mail locally addressed, they ‘could’ pull that mail and put it in a Post Office Box or drop it off at the destinating delivery carriers station.
Nowadays, the carriers no longer sort their mail. Mail arrives from the mail processing center presorted into delivery order.
Mail left at the delivery carrier’s work station is now an obstruction to the carrier. That is, the carrier must to perform additional effort and work to put the mail item into the delivery order. Like hunting for button in thirty drawers filled with buttons.
Not a happy experience for an employee with a supervisor breathing down their neck to pack up and get out on the road delivering.
There were typically several slots for mail drop off; Local, Meter, Flats, Letters, Other and sometimes Odd Size.
I used to think it bizarre that USPS would use terms for public use that only some Postal employees and businesses with the required equipment understood.
Meters; mail post marked by business ‘leased’ postage meters.
Flats; any flat mail item larger than approximate 11.5″ on a side.
Letters; all letter sized mail.
Other; all mail. Flats, letters, packages…
Odd Size; small odd sized packages. Think camera film mailed to a development company.
Other slots have sometimes been added over the years; e.g. Priority.
That the letter was sent via USPS invokes the USPS Constitutional requirement to keep mail secure.
That is, that alleged letter is considered mail fraud and Postal Inspection Service treats mail fraud seriously.
KMN.
When you live in a small town, your local mail goes to the closest city with a mail sorting facility. I live in Western NC and all our mail goes to and comes from Asheville, 30 miles away. This is not unusual, but definitely allows for more handling and potential fraud.
And this is a great example of ignorance and arrogance.
USPS has been shedding tens of thousands of clerical positions for two decades through automation.
The old way had people hand sorting every item at every location. Hundreds of thousands of clerks performing many handlings make for huge cost to handle that little letter.
All of it, tediously slow work.
Nowadays, ALL mail is transported to a mail processing location with installed automation that sorts, resorts then finally sorts mail into delivery order.
At tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars for each piece of automated letter sorting equipment, it is impractical for mail to be sorted locally.
When slow manual handlings are converted to automated processes, that is Progress. Establishing mail handling processes that sort billions of pieces of mail, per day, far far cheaper then an army of mail clerks could ever accomplish.
Bad handwriting, sloppy addresses, local only named locations, errors, wrong zip-codes, etc. may all condemn mail to endless cycles of mail processing.
In spite of the best technology, programming and algorithms, people are quite capable of screwing up mail piece delivery.
ATheok
Thanks for calling me an idiot.
That is why I come to the CTH. /s
Maybe I could clarify my point by saying all mail-in ballots will be handled by a usps center in st. paul. A strictly blue union usps center. In a blue city. In a blue county. In a blue state.
What could possibly go wrong?
Spring Valley is a town of about 3,000 in a sparsely populated county. The area has quite a few Amish farms. That county voted Trump 56% to 35%.
If anyone is curious about the postmark, a while back the postal service removed all sorting from the local post offices in these small towns. All mail, including purely local in-town mail, goes to St. Paul for sorting.
The folds are highly unusual. They make the school’s claim that someone re-addressed a return envelope pretty credible. I don’t know what to make of the matching folds in the letter. Did the sender absentmindedly fold the envelope after sealing it? Did they maybe carry it around in a pocket all day before deciding to actually send it?
The lack of letterhead should have jumped out at you. This school probably hasn’t changed their letterhead in 25+ years. Unless they’ve built a new school building or moved an administrative office, the last change to the letterhead was probably the addition of an email address in 1995 +/- 2 years.
It amuses me a little bit that we on the right are so accustomed to false flags that half of us assume that the recipient is also the sender.
Live near the area, and have friends that live just outside of the town. Ironically, it is the only town in the area, even including Rochester (my home areas within the town at least), where I have seen the most Biden signs in people’s yards, including the weirdest combo of “We support law enforcement” and a “Biden Harris 2020” (things that make you go…Uh?). It provided a nice little laugh while driving through a few weeks ago. It never stops to amaze me the lengths people will go to try and shut people they don’t agree with down. How someone can allow another person to occupy that kind of space in their heads rent free is both sad and amazing.
Thank you for writing a reasonable assessment of this letter. I looked up Spring Valley in City-data for info on it. The letter appears to just not ring true for the community. The writer’s thought process also just doesn’t flow so I wouldn’t be surprised it is a junior high schooler’s attempt at a prank. It IS Halloween time!! I would venture to say that the homeowner did the most reasonable thing to do and the young person (if it was) was reprimanded by his parents or at least did not suffer the embarrassment this could have caused.
Imagine the indoctrination…
Let see
enabling narcissist behavior, check
laying out failure to comply, check
not getting the results desired, guaranteed
equals
entitlement to be anti-social little babies ill equiped to enter adult life at any level…
That is unless you have an adult authority figure that will tell you are right, coddle you so that never experience emotional growth and doubly make sure you always have your safe places.
And then trample the Constitutional Rights of others so that your pseudo ego(arrogance) is never challenged.
Sounds like the perfect recipe to make little mindless robots that if given half the chance would pull a Kevorkian on their elders.
Hey that sounds like a radical leftist’s plan to save Social Security and the polar bears from gobal warming all rolled into one.
Just who would not want that?
Hmm… What would be the required mechanism?
It has got to be something that imposes the maximum amount of fear and the greatest backlash on oppositional outliners.
Hey, how about a pandemic.
But there is a missing essential ingredient…
Oowe, oowe I know…
Lets create a movement that seeks to pull local civil authority from the streets after spending many years of massively lying to us and creating social divisions.
I would write back a note in big, bold letters “LOL!”
7 letters… two words.
**** ***!
But then, I’ve never been known for showing civility in these circumstances.
“”But if by chance it came from a staff member“? Either investigate and deny or investigate and afffirm.
Did anyone notice the 20hr old post that says “Kindsland does know the identity of the individual and it will be turned over to law enforcement.”

Just say’n… 😉
Yes, and I saw what you did. 😉
The resident decided to keep the wrongdoer’s name secret.
Why? Why do we continue to play nice? If the roles were reversed the resident receiving the letter would have already contacted Twitter, Facebook, made a video, be filming a Joe Biden ad, get on the Today show and have an interview slated with Lester Dolt.
The person trying to use their position of power to silence a citizen should be shamed and fired. Make them face the wrath. Stop letting them off easy.
This is my question. It’s not as if the law-breaker wouldn’t have just let the ruse go on.
They will always do what they think they can get away with.
Marxists believe man can perfect man. Having achieved that, and ruled by emotion as they are, all that remains is to control the behavior of others. That’s peace to them.
On occasion, you’ll encounter one with a touch of self-deprecation, admitting to a degree of imperfection, but that’s phariseeism. You can pin that on the Jerry Springer media model of fascination with the worst behavior of others. We are, all of us, doing better than we deserve.
There, but for the Grace of God, go I.
Marxists believe man can perfect man.
Or, in the case of reprobates, eliminated.
The superintendent commented further down on his Facebook post that it was not a school employee.
And a parent commented that the self addressed envelopes are sent home all the time for parents to return lunch money.
Why are they keeping the “wrong-doer” anonymous? That’s the problem we have. People are not suffering any consequences to actions like this. It was written as a representative of the school, tax payers of that school district need to know who was misusing there funds….unless it was the good superintendent himself…..?
Assuming the whole thing is not a hoax, then I think it’s a reasonable assumption that the sender was the homeowner’s child or a friend of one of his kids. That’s the only way I could see letting the perpetrator off the hook.
So now the homeowner claims the perp reached out and apologized, and he wants to keep it confidential from authorities.
That means to me one of two things: a student, or the homeowner, attempted this hoax.
My money is on a student, and the homeowner doesn’t want to ruin their future with a juvenile matter. Whether to out the perp is the homeowner’s prerogative, unless police do get involved and demand identification.
The school should issue a statement to the community and student body on the necessity of peaceful tolerance of opposing political views. THAT would be a real educational outcome here.
I was disappointed to see some of the other commenters here (and elsewhere) so instantly and aggressively jump to a snap conclusion before all the facts were in, and condemn the school without the least bit of curiosity or critical review. The school has to prove its innocence? That is no better than Kavanaugh’s accusers were.
Another horrifying example of lack of self-reflection.
I’m sure everyone has, by now, watched the amazing interview by some British accented activist of Jordan Peterson where she asserted the nonsensical idea that people have the right not to be offended. The response was legendary and epic as was her response to his response. If you haven’t watched it, I don’t want to spoil it for you and encourage you to seek it out on Youtube (if it’s still there) immediately. There’s not much of him (yet) on rumble which I encourage people to use… https://rumble.com/embed/v7uc1l/?pub=4
The point here is about this “right to not be offended” line. Before we’ve all become desensitized to the saturation of our culture with fringe interests such as homosexuality and similar preferences (and they are still trying to normalize pedophilia… do NOT let them do it!) there was no such claim that there was a right not to be offended. In fact, the left promoted exactly the opposite.
But now the left promotes precisely this right not to be offended. It’s time to shove it down their throats the way we should also be shoving down the throats of Democrats their changing of the 2/3rds majority rule in the senate in favor of a simple majority (the nuclear option). They need to be reminded of this fact every 3 to 4 seconds… (two seconds is just a little too much right?)
We’ve got to “train” the leftists because they clearly lack maturity and parenting. They need their noses rubbed into their own mess and reminded that it’s their own mess. And maybe, just maybe one day, we won’t have to deal with this extremism for another generation or two.
Look closely at the letter, the misspelling, and so forth. It is so obviously a fake.
Oops. Misspelled email address on that Reply and got wrong avatar.
Regardless of who did what to whom, my response…. clearly, a bigger TRUMP Flag in the yard.
Maybe a student that stole an envelope from the office, and thats why they dont want to release the name.
But regardless, Id be adding bigger flags and signs in my yard after that.
The letters are coming from inside the school.
Keeping it secret. How adorable. Yet, this made national news and the perp should not hide behind that generosity. That would not be truly repenting, just hiding from responsibility. I would expect some anger management classes. Perhaps attendance at a Trump rally for punishment and reeducation. Isn’t that the rule now?
Very odd that the perp called to apologize. This isn’t like the FBI or even the police would be involved in fingerprinting the letter or envelope for Ricin. There were no threats made unless the school was going to call in the FBI and press charges for theft of an envelope.
small town, person could be his neighbor with behavioral challenges. This may be the reason perp is not being identified.
Doesn’t matter if it was fake, stolen letterhead, or official. The letter states name of school and sender thus it is a government document and is subject to transparency laws by anyone asking for the information.
Just say no.
You guys, this is Minnesota. TDS falls under HIPPA.
“Keep the identity anonymous”? What the hell for? Out of respect for someone who has no respect for you and has violated school rules, and possibly the law, as well an infringed on your 1st Amendment under the cloak of government agency? Sure, we must make sure she (show me I’m wrong) faces no blowback on this, while she and her ilk want you put in jail for your beliefs. This burns my ass.
Fear.
A suitable answer to that original note would have included something along the lines of: “If you think that sign might disturb the peace, wait ’til you see how I react when you try to take it down.”
Sorry, I call BS. They got exposed and decided it was bad press.
Damn liberals are so predictable.
Written by a student, no doubt.
I find the school superintendents use of the word apologize instead of the correct past tense version (apologized) the most disturbing part of this story. The leader of a school district not using the correct version of words, doesn’t bode well for an institute of learning. No I’m not the word police BUT something as simple as this is inexcusable. Taxpayers deserve better.
Honey, Order that HUGE Trump flag….The one we have ISN’T big enough!!!!
