In Los Angeles County, some bars are now requiring proof of vaccination to enter their establishments, with many Angelinos voicing their approval of the initiative.

Bars like Little Joy, The Henry, Gold Diggers, and Footsies have all implemented these new rules, posting on Instagram their requirement that patrons have proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of visiting.

ABC 7 interviewed patrons of these bars, with many voicing their support of the bars' new rules.

"With the Delta variant going around, I think it's probably for the better that—especially people young like us who are going out are vaccinated to, you know, prevent the spread and hopefully prevent the further adaptations of this virus," said Jack Bergon, who told ABC 7 he was headed to The Short Stop.

"In our demographic, a lot of people in their early-to-mid-20s, late-20s, early-30s, that have gone out, they have taken the risk and they're taking the risk upon themselves," said Short Stop patrol Weston Massett.

"And if they choose not to get vaccinated, that's totally their own decision but it's also—they're putting themselves at risk, they're putting others at risk."

Some of the patrons interviewed said that while people have the right not to get vaccinated, there's a need for vaccinated and unvaccinated people to remain separate to curb the spread of the virus.

"I'm all for it," said patron Jeremy S. "I think, yeah, as he said earlier, everyone's got their right to do whatever. They don't want to get vaccinated, they probably shouldn't be coming out because they're more likely to spread the disease than people who are."

"I'm not going to tell them how to live their life, but if they don't want to get vaccinated then they don't have to come here," said Los Angeles resident identified only as Mike S.

"They don't have to come to these bars that require that. It's their business, they can do whatever they want, and if they want to hang out they should get vaccinated."

Internationally, cities like London have begun to require vaccination proof from bar patron, according to ABC 7. Across the UK, entertainment venues will require guests to use vaccination passports to show either proof of vaccination or a negative test result starting in September, WION wrote.
